Focus

Above all else, DSV recital videos are crystal clear. Never blurry! We need our videographers to be ultra aware of always maintaining crisp, clean, and completely focused… well, focus!

Exposure

Dance recitals are notorious for their elaborate, ever changing, and colorful stage lighting. Often bouncing from extreme bright vivid colors to dim subtle cools, DSV videographers have to be ready to adjust settings at a moment’s notice.

Smooth Movement

“Shake, rattle, and roll” are great song lyrics, but not so great for DSV recital videos. We require that our videographers have a high quality, fluid-head tripod and are skilled at using the fluid drag system. If you’re not, don’t worry… we’ll train you!

Training

Whether you’re just getting started in videography or have half a lifetime of experience, if you have an eye for excellence and a desire to “Always Be Learning”, we’re interested in having you on the DSV TV team! And regardless of your experience, training will be provided to ensure all DSV videographers are working on the same system.

Attitude

Are you a people person? Do you greet strangers with a smile? Are you outgoing and friendly? Do you have a knack for customer service? These are the characteristics we’re looking for in our Lead and Associate videographers!

Camera operator positions pay $70/hour to $80/hour

Before applying, here are some general items that we require in order to successfully shoot for us.

  • a professional video camera capable of shooting in 60P.

  • a professional tripod AND a fluid head system. Generally, most tripod systems under the $150 price mark will be inadequate for the smooth movement needed.

  • a Zoom Video Lens. Prime lenses are great for films, but won’t work for this setting. A video lens that won’t lose focus on a zoom is also essential.

  • at least two camera batteries, and backup SD cards.
